White silk khata, or prayer scarf, tied around prayer-flag pole, or darchen, bound by strips of yak hide. Prayers written on the flags are carried on the wind, five elements are represented, green for water, blue sky, yellow earth, red fire, and white wind, originating in the pre-Buddhist religion, Bon shamanism, at Drepung Monastery, Lhasa, Tibet, China..
