The Presbytery (choir or sanctuary), where ????performed.
The arch at the presbytery entrance is decorated with head and shoulders medallions of J, the 12 Apostles, and the two sons of St Vitale, St Gervasius and St Protasius. Central, at the height of the arch, is bearded Jesus, with Peter and Paul either side. St Andrew with his typical bad hair day. The medallions are surrounded by dolphins with intertwined tails, globes and crosses.
The left wall contains a lunette with two scenes from the life of Abraham. In one, Sarah, his wife, is watching from a doorway while he a group of three haloed with calf.guest Their haloes may represent the idea of the Triity. In the other Abraham is prepared to sacrifice his only son Isaac, but stayed by the Hand of God.
To the left is prophet Jeremiah, to the right is a beardless Moses ascending Mt Sinai with Aaron and the twelve tribes of Israel.
Above these scenes are Evangelist Mark and Luke with their symbols, an eagle and ox respectively.
On the right wall is a lunette of an altar table with Abel offering a spotless lamb and Mel offering bread.
At left of the lunette is Moses untying his sandals before the burning bush, and a scene of him watching the flock of his father-in-law. At right, the prophet Isiah.
Above are the Evangelists Matthew and Mark with their symbolic winged man and lion.
